Summer School enrollment begins April 28

High school summer school will be offered Monday, June 2 – Thursday, June 19. The morning session will be offered 7:30 – 11:30 a.m. and the afternoon session will be offered 12 – 4 p.m. The summer school courses will be offered Monday – Thursday at East and South High Schools and Learning2 eSchool.  Click here to see the summer school brochure and course offerings. The cost is $90 per course for in-district students and $150 for out-of-district.  

To enroll, students must visit with their school’s counselor and complete the enrollment form. Classes will be filled on a first-come, first served basis. After May 22, students will have to enroll at East, South or eSchool. The last day to enroll is Thursday, May 29 by noon.

AdvancED Report

I am pleased to report to you that our visiting team from AdvancED will be recommending that our school be accredited for another 5 years!  Go Pioneers!

I want to thank the leadership team and folks who helped us finalize the report for their extra effort in this process.

I want to thank all our staff for the great work that you do each day.  Also thank you to our students and parents.

The team had many positive things to say but in general, they emphasized:

  •         Many great things happening at West
  •         Culture and Climate is solid and improving
  •         Great staff-who really cares and tries to provide for the needs of our

Emergency Safety Interventions
Kansas now has regulations schools must follow for using restraint or seclusion with any student who is an immediate danger to self or others. This policy will be a part of the Student Code of Conduct next year at enrollment and is also available on the USD 259 website, http://esi.usd259.org.
